Chiropractic Care for Leg Injuries
Keeping active with chiropractic care!
Starting your program off on the right foot
Beginning a new exercise program is a good idea, but if you start developing problems like leg pain or shin splints, you risk further damage. Not only that, you may lose momentum for your new workout. "As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, we help patients recover from injuries, and help develop healthy stretching programs for balance and flexibility" states Dr. Allen Conrad, BS, DC, CSCS.
As the owner of Montgomery County Chiropractic Center, we examine any injured areas, and help develop chiropractic care and therapeutic exercise program specific to your condition. Our goals for any injury is to help maintain flexibility and proper posture with balance training. Anytime you can improve these areas, your activities will seem easier to do, and will help reduce the chance of future injuries.
What is the first step?
Before starting a new exercise program, you need to identify your goals and find out what type of program is best suited for you. Are you looking to lose weight? Are you looking to tone up muscles, or improve muscle strength and endurance? Each goal has a different objective, so its important to make sure you are working smart, and doing the program which is best suited for what you want to accomplish. Our office will schedule an examination to determine if you have any injuries that may affect your program, and put you on the type of plan which points you in the right direction. If you suffer an injury, we are there to offer chiropractic care and flexibility training to help you get back to your activities as soon as possible.
How long does it take to see results?
Everyone wants to see results, but being patient is part of the process. If you are looking to lose weight, cutting back on calories and increasing your cardiovascular training on a progressive basis will help with weight loss. If strength is your goal, identifying which exercises and resistance is key. This is why getting a chiropractic evaluation is essential to see what is appropriate for you, and help reduce the chance of injuring yourself.
What happens if I get shin splints, back pain, or sciatica from walking?
If you get injured, a combination of chiropractic care, therapeutic exercise, electrical muscle stimulation and massage therapy will help improve muscle and tendon injuries. Dr. Allen Conrad is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of these injuries, and the faster you get an injury treated, the better the long term results.
